Whilst the day to day functions of Tayside Contracts are the responsibility of the Managing Director, the overall governance of the organisation is the responsibility of a Joint Committee, comprising of 18 elected members made up of:
Governance arrangements are set out in the Local Code of Corporate Governance and detailed in Tayside Contracts Minute of Agreement, Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
The convenership of the Joint Committee, currently with Perth & Kinross Council, is rotated on a yearly basis on 1 April each year in which there are no ordinary elections of Councillors to the constituent Council. At this point the Vice Convener reverts to Vice Convener Elect.
Additionally, the clerk to the Joint Committee is currently Roger Mennie, Head of Democratic and Legal Services, Dundee City Council, the role of Proper Officer is carried out by Gregory Colgan, Executive Director of Corporate Services, Dundee City Council.
