Our Joint Committee

Whilst the day to day functions of Tayside Contracts are the responsibility of the Managing Director, the overall governance of the organisation is the responsibility of a Joint Committee, comprising 18 elected members.

The Committee is comprised of:
  • 6 elected members from Angus Council
  • 6 elected members from Dundee City Council
  • 6 elected members from Perth & Kinross Council

Learn about Tayside Contracts

The convenership of the Joint Committee, currently with Dundee City Council, is rotated on a yearly basis on 1 April each year in which there are no ordinary elections of Councillors to the constituent Council. At this point the Vice Convener reverts to Vice Convener Elect.

Additionally, the clerk to the Joint Committee is Roger Mennie, Head of Democratic and Legal Services at Dundee City Council. Robert Thomson, Executive Director of Corporate Services also of Dundee City Council carries out the role of Proper Officer.
