To assist the Business Improvement Manager (Cons) in order to bring about quantifiable benefits to the Construction Division.
The successful applicant will be exposed to all construction activities, but will mainly focus on assisting the Business Improvement Team to; • monitor operational outputs and developing environmental and waste management processes to maintain environmental compliance, • development and maintenance of Construction environmental, quality and waste management systems, • promoting sustainable operational work practices to reduce environmental impact, • monitoring, measuring, and improving construction waste management, • effective communication in providing guidance and support on environmental, quality and waste management to Construction employees, • implementing environmental best practice into Construction activities to maintain compliance, • carrying out internal environmental and quality audits The successful applicant would be expected to have some of the following knowledge and skills; • have knowledge of environmental and waste legislation, • knowledge of EFQM and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems, • internal auditor skills, • have excellent communication, and presenting skills, • be a team player who can also work on their own initiative, • have relevant work experience, • be expected to develop Lean Construction Management skills through applying Business Improvement techniques, although training will be given if required, • ideally educated to degree level in a related environmental or quality subject area, • Other duties as appropriate to the grade will be required as directed. Previous experience is preferred but is not essential as ongoing training will be provided in the role.
Hours: 37 hours per week Working between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm
Salary: £21,665.88 - £28,495.55 per annum (salary placing will be dependent on skills and experience).
Must have a UK Category B or equivalent drivers licence to apply.
To assist the Business Improvement Manager (Construction) with the introduction, formalisation and embedding of performance improvement measurement systems and procedures and the introduction of innovative techniques and processes, in order to bring about quantifiable benefits to the Construction Division. Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of Tayside Contracts' corporate waste management strategy, including the development of over-arching environmental and sustainability strategies
A Category B driving licence is essential for this post. Tayside Contracts has a temporary Home Working Policy in place as a result of COVID-19 restrictions, meaning some home working may be suggested in the short term.
