This is supported by our Business Plan 2021 – 2024 “Communities, Councils and Customers” theme around “Economy and Education” engaging and supporting Tay Cities Deals, Council’s Education Services as well as local schools/colleges.
We look forward to working with schools to deliver on programmes such as work placements, career events and work inspirational activities such as interview skills, inspirational talks, workplace visits and coaching and mentoring schemes.
We are excited to develop/build on further relationships with our local schools and colleges on adding value to the education experience, support career paths and potentially attract a new generation of local talented people to work with Tayside Contracts.
Tayside Contracts have been recognised as an approved official Young Person’s Guarantee Employer.
The Young Person’s Guarantee (YPG) aims to connect every 16 – 24-year-old in Scotland to an opportunity. This could be a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training or volunteering. It could also be an enterprise opportunity. We have been working hard with colleagues in our Councils` Education Services, Employability teams, and also local further education providers, to make these links to support young people.
We recognise the most important people in all of this are the young people, and hopefully we can make a positive difference to their lives, as well as building our workforce for the future.
