Finalists
Alison Gallacher, Procurement – over the past eighteen months Alison has supported school cooks and catering and cleaning managers to a level beyond the expectations of her position. She understands all aspects of the business and will go the extra mile to ensure that operational mangers and staff have equipment and raw materials that are fit for purpose to ensure a seamless service. Alison is extremely professional and is held in very high regard by catering and cleaning suppliers and business partners.

Colin McDonald, Safety & Training – Colin joined Tayside Contracts in 2008 and provides a service for both internal and external customers, locally and nationally. Many compliments and commendations have been received from Dundee Contracts Services, Argyll & Bute Council and Aberdeen Council. Colin operates at a consistent level and is a true professional in all that he does. He goes above and beyond the call of duty to support, guide and encourage employees, enabling them to get the very best from training events.

Mandy Leeder, Payroll – although several people were involved in the achievement of two of Tayside Contracts’ key corporate priorities (the implementation of single status and equal pay) no single individual was as pivotal to the success of these major initiatives than Mandy Leeder. The resolution of equal pay was dependant on calculating individual compensation payments for over 1,500 employees based on extremely complex criteria. Mandy was single-handedly responsible for this exercise, which she conducted in addition to her day job of running the payroll section, a job she has held since April 2009. Mandy has demonstrated innovation and efficiency and a professional will to ensure the implementation of several innovative ideas, which have already had time and cost savings benefits to Tayside Contracts.

Winner – Colin McDonald, Safety & Training. Colin is an excellent motivator and communicator who uses his skills to get the best from all who attend his training events. He is very popular and an individual whose professionalism at all times shines through. He is a willing employee and delivers an excellent service throughout.
