The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 is concerned with improving the access to information by the public, delivering greater openness and transparency throughout the public sector. The Act gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by Scottish Public Authorities, including Tayside Contracts.
Any person has the right of access to all types of recorded information of any age held by Public Authorities and anyone who makes a request to Tayside Contracts for information must be provided with the information unless any exemptions apply.
Tayside Contracts has produced a publication scheme which sets out what information is available, how the information is available and whether or not it is available free of charge. Our publication scheme is incorporated into the Dundee City Council publication scheme. Tayside Contracts has had an approved publication scheme in operation since 1 June 2004.
If the information you request is not available through the publication scheme then you must submit a written request for this information.
A form to assist you with these requests will be available shortly, in the meantime please click here to send us an email stating your full contact details and the nature of the information you require.
Tayside Contracts must answer your request within 20 working days of receiving it. We will contact you within this time if we need further details to assist us in finding the information.
If we think that your request may fall under the Data Protection Act we will let you know as the rules and procedures for dealing with these types of requests are slightly different.
The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 is enforced by the Scottish Information Commissioner who deals only with Scottish Public Authorities.
