Tayside Contracts has presented two local charities with donations totalling £2,000 after its inaugural excellence awards.

The money was presented to the Children's Hospice Association Scotland and Dundee's Maggie's Centre.

Managing Director Iain Waddell handed over the cheques.

He said, "We held our excellence awards in the Caird Hall in May, attended by about 400 people and compered by Sally Magnusson, and on the night there was a collection for local charities.

"We've been involved with Maggie's and CHAS at Rachel House for a number of years now and often give a donation instead of sending Christmas cards.

"A lot of Tayside Contracts' staff  have had contact with Maggie's Centre, and Rachel House do tremendous work for children and their families".
